The Diabetes Epidemic
Anyone who is prediabetic or a diabetic type i or ii, is part of the diabetes epidemic in our nation today.
The diabetes epidemic is the one disease that we could have stopped dead in its tracks if we had been given correct information that had been based on truth, not based upon what someone determined might be better for us!
Did you know that the first “Food Pyramid” was initially built by a woman nutritionist; she had been hired by an organization known as the USDA. The pyramid that the woman nutritionist initially developed was reviewed, revised, and then released by the USDA as authority.
The USDA was then responsible for information that people in millions of jobs used every single day. Those menu planners based millions of menus and meals that they planned for many millions of adults and children on the dynamics published in their own USDA food pyramid.
Did you also know that the original food pyramid was changed to show that we, the people in the US should be eating more grain(s) and foods made of grains such as breads, pasta, and cereals?
And so rather than eating the fats along with the proteins that our bodies craved and burned quite naturally, we have been filling our bellies with grain based foods to which chemicals, sugar, and salt was added to make things taste good.
After consuming all of that garbage for years, and it was turning to sugar in our guts and then damaging our bodies and veins as our blood became thicker trying to push through our tiny capillaries to our organs, making a mess of our insides. This was the beginning of the diabetes epidemic.
The USDA moved the fats and proteins from the bigger portion of the pyramid and replaced them with grains, breads, flour, all those yummy carbohydrates. You know, carbohydrates. Those things that turn to sugar in our stomachs sending sugar/glucose coursing through our veins, causing hazards everywhere they flowed.
The USDA did this to us? But they told us that eating fats, saturated fats was bad for us. That saturated fats were killers. This was another huge lie.
No one ran a single test to prove any of this was true. If they had, they would have found what they are finding today. That saturated fats are actually good for us. Our brains use these fats and their proteins to function. Without them, our brains starve.
The USDA unknowingly created the diabetes epidemic that we are suffering from. If you know how many millions of people have diabetes and how many more are pre-diabetic, then consider how much it costs each person per year to take care of themselves and their medications.
Why would the USDA step in and severely change this part of the food pyramid; this pyramid that they paid an educated nutritionist to develop? What motive could the USDA possibly have that would make them change the way that Americans were supposed to eat to stay healthy? Did they have any knowledge of the long term effects that they were dedicating our lives to?
Was the USDA getting paid to turn the food pyramid upside down? Or did they do it just to give themselves a name?
The original food pyramid showed only two or three servings of grains “per week” (not even daily) and /alongside that were four tablespoons of cold-pressed fats such as olive oil added but it was supposed to be added to all of the fats that naturally occurred in our foods.
Add to that five to nine servings of vegetables per day, five to seven ounces of protein foods (meat, eggs, nuts, and beans) daily and two to three servings of dairy per day. Sugar was to be kept at not more than ten percent of the total caloric intake. White flour got lumped into the junk food section, which was supposed to be consumed rarely, if at all.
The main goal of the USDA was to be support for the agriculture and the dairy farmers. In their effort to support farmers in the US, the USDA changed the food pyramid to show that we should be consuming 6 to 11 servings of carbohydrates (grains) per day, and then moved fats to a minimum.
The USDA had nothing to do with implementing or giving the people of the US a healthy diet. They had no idea of the long term affects when they changed that information. We were doomed to this disease called diabetes when they made that change. They started the diabetes epidemic.
The fact that the USDA is in favor of the farmers and their crops tells us exactly what we needed to know about their motives for changing the food pyramid to favor grains and processed flours, foods, and cereals.
The decisions made by the USDA were not based on education or science. It was almost like they picked the idea out of thin air and then said “here, this is how you should eat from now on”; it was based on “nothing”.
Instead of eating things that our bodies crave such as eggs, real butter, and even whole milk, they were telling us to eat things with low fat content such as bread, pasta, and cereal, which is really high in carbohydrates (sugar).
If you are at all familiar with how our body works when we put nutrition into it and how that nutrition is used once we have devoured it, you would know that carbohydrates turn to glucose which is sugar.
We have become a nation addicted to sugar. It’s like being addicted to any drug and it’s killing us. Some more quickly than others.
It should also be a big zero for anyone and everyone on our planet and hopefully I can convince you of this throughout my website.
When you notice that you are slowing down, feeling even a little fatigued, maybe having a little trouble concentrating, or feeling some confusion? This is your brain in starvation mode and it wants to be fed. Our bodies were meant to consume and burn fats, not carbohydrates.
I have to just come out and say it; I’m mad as heck. When the USDA did us that huge favor of simply making their decision based on “nothing”, that we should begin to consume more grain products, sending our nation into a huge down spiraling group of humans trying to digest five times the amount of carbs than we should have; they opened up the pandora’s box for diabetes and whatever other diseases that come because of diabetes; there’s a large number of them.
We as a nation, just up and changed the way that we ate and processed our foods because some people in some organization decided it would be better for us. Not that we could have done anything about it; we didn’t know this was happening to us. This was based on nothing but the interests and political agenda of the USDA. *See Dr. Marlene Merritt; Smart Blood Sugar, Primal Health LP, page 12. When I read this, I just about exploded!
I am sick inside today because back when I decided that I needed to lose some of the baby fat I had gained during both pregnancies, I stopped eating the fats that my body used to burn for energy and began eating nothing but carbs. That included lots of salad and vegetables, wheat bread and rolls, diet pepsi or coke. This was obviously pushing me closer to the diabetes epidemic and my diabetes diagnosis and I’m really angry about it.
But I am happy that you were able to stop by and visit our site today! I would hope that you are as mad or perplexed as I am and will leave your “footprints” below so that we know you were here. Please say hello, if nothing else. I will be doing more investigation on this information.
Thanks and have a marvelous weekend.
